What’s the Difference Between 200x100mm and 100x100mm Setts?

200x100mm setts are great for larger areas and consistent patterns, while 100x100mm setts are better suited for detailed layouts or decorative elements. The sizes can even be combined within the same space, for added interest and texture.

Are Cobbles & Setts Suitable for Heavy Traffic Areas?

Yes, our natural stone cobbles and setts are highly durable and can withstand heavy foot and vehicular traffic. The minimum thickness of our setts is 40mm, and they all adhere to the British Standard of slip-rating, making them an idea driveway paver. We would always recommend that darker/more forgiving colours are used when laying any driveway material, as marks and stains won’t show as readily as they would on lighter, smoother paving types.

How do I Maintain my Cobbles & Setts?

Maintenance is straightforward. Like any outdoor material, regular sweeping and seasonal jet washing with a mild detergent will keep them looking beautiful. Lighter-coloured setts, such as Mint Sandstone and Tumbled Mint, will require a slightly higher level of maintenance than those that are less porous and more forgiving (i.e. Black Limestone and Kandla Grey).

Absolutely! While their rustic appeal complements traditional designs, the neutral tones and clean lines also suit contemporary styles. Do Natural Stone Setts & Cobbles Need to be Sealed?

Sealing is recommended with any material that has been machine sawn (in this case, Tumbled Mint Sandstone Setts). Although riven (hand cut) materials are robust, sealing them prior to laying (or afterwards, if that’s not possible) will help to protect your pavers from lingering stains. Sealing helps to hold marks or stains in place and assists with ongoing maintenance.
